"Where Do I Start?"
Choosing the right water filter for your needs.

These "do-it-yourself" Undersink and Whole House water filters are designed for easy installation – clamping a saddle valve around your cold water supply line is all there is to installing your filter. However, if you do not want to tap into your cold water line or if you live in a rental unit and cannot tap into the pipes, a Faucet Mount  or Countertop water filter is for you.

“Point of Entry” (POE) Whole House Water Filters

First, we recommend that you install a high-flow Whole House water filter where the water line comes into your home. This Whole House filter will reduce rust and sediment picked up from the pipes that deliver water to your home from your well or municipal water system. This first cleaning of incoming water will protect your appliances (hot water heater, clothes washer, dishwasher, humidifier, toilets, showers, etc.) from the wear caused by rust and sediment in the water. A Whole House filter will also remove much of the chlorine that can cause itchy skin and damage your clothing.

We recommend OMNI Filter Model U25 as your Whole House filtration system. If you have a large home or high water demands, we recommend OMNI Filter Model BF7.  The OB1 or OB5 is made for professional installation.

“Point of Use” (POU) Water Filters

Then we recommend you install a high-contaminant-removal filter in your kitchen (or bathroom) where water is used for cooking and drinking. Called “Point of Use” filters, these units remove contaminants and provide clean, safe, great tasting water on demand. Below are explanations of the different types of filters available to help you make the right choices for your home or office.

How to Choose an Under Sink Water Filter

OMNI Undersink water filters “polish” your water by reducing rust and sediment, odors and chlorine, lead, bacteria, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including pesticides like lindane and herbicides like atrazine. An Undersink water filter in your home will provide you with great tasting water for drinking, cooking, and making beverages like coffee, tea, and juices!

These are easy Do-It-Yourself Kits.  The Omni SFM2 filter is a simple economic filter.  The UC2 has twice the  filter capacity.  The CBF1 and CBF3 protects against harmful Giardia and Cryptosporidium bacteria.  The OT32 filters rust and sediment.  The Pur Plus Undersink removes microorganisms such as Giardia and Cryptosporidum as well as other potentially harmful contaminants.

How to Choose a Faucet Mount Water Filter

For a low-cost, entry-level water filter, the OMNI F1 Faucet Mount unit will give you great tasting water at the end of your tap. It takes only minutes to install.  Consider the Pur Ultimate Faucet Mount Removes contaminants and improves taste right at the tap.  Pur's best in water filtration.  Just click on the name to find out more.

How to Choose a Countertop Water Filter

A consideration is the Pur Plus Countertop.  Removes Giardia cysts and Cryptosporidum.  Easy to install and affordable.   Even more affordable are the Pur Plus Dispenser and Pur Plus Pitcher for advanced contaminant removal.

How to Choose a Refrigerator/Icemaker Water Filter

The OMNI R200 or CCF1 Refrigerator/Icemaker filters will make your ice cubes taste great and take that chlorine taste and odor out of your cold drinks. The only difference in the three models is the way they attach to the 1/4" tubing behind your refrigerator. See each product page for details.

How to Choose a Emergency Water Filter

The ease of operation combined with a proven effectiveness at eliminating water-borne diseases such as cholera and typhoid has led to the
British Berkefeld Filter being the preferred unit for field operations by many of the world's major aid and emergency relief organizations. British Imperial Filter is silver impregnated and will not permit bacteria grow-through (mitosis).  It provides a hostile environment for all microbiological organisms and won't support their growth.

How to Choose a Portable - Travel Water Filter

The Clear Brook filters are the ideal traveling companion that enables you to filter water from almost any questionable source; tap water, public water fountain, water fall, stream, lake, river, OR, in an emergency: swimming pool, toilet tank, water heater, etc.   Pour any water source into the top of British Imperial Mini Travel Mate and in 60 minutes you'll have 16 ounces of safe, clean, great tasting water. Great for the office, workplace, hotels, RV's, boats, camping, home and natural disasters.
